Quick Control – The primary purpose of this application was to provide a single interface that allows someone to control an entire project without ever having to change the room the touch screen is controlling. The Lite Version will allow you to control as many rooms AV devices as you want.

System Requirements:

Control4 Composer 2.0+ ( We recommend 2.2 )

Control4 7” Touch Screen or MyHomePC application

BlackWire QC Lite Driver: Identifier_NA_BWS_Lite.c4i

Getting Started:

You will need to purchase a license from the BlackWire Dealer Store and enter the Director MAC address when purchasing. You will receive 2 emails. The first is your order confirmation with a link to download the driver. The second email will come a few minutes later with the keycode to activate the driver.

Step1: Close composer and place the driver in the My Documents/Control4/Drivers folder

Step2: Open composer and under System Design go to a floor you want to be visible and select a room that will NOT be hidden in navigator.

Step 3. Click Search on the top left and leave the Device Type as Others then Select the manufacture BlackWire Software. Then select your driver.

Step 4: Enter the license key into the Key box and click set. Ensure that the License Status says License Verified after you click set. If it does not contact BlackWire

Step 5: Assign a touch screen:

At the top of the driver there is an Assigned Touch Screen box. On the far right click Select. It will bring up a box that allows you to designate the touch screens and myhomepc devices. When finished click OK. IMPORTANT: If you add a touch screen to the project later you will need to add them to the list.

 Step 6: Support Contact Line 1 & 2:

Every time the app is loaded, this information will be visible. This is a great place to put a dealer contact name/number/email address etc. When you fill out each line click Set on the right. If both lines are left blank, no contact information will be displayed.  IMPORTANT: Limit the non text characters to       @ , . - Also do NOT use the & logo. It will cause the app to not load properly.

Assigning what floors / rooms show up in the app:

Floor and Room Names: When you load the app you are going to see a list of Floors. See the last section in here called Multiple Floors for detailed information on a naming scheme. Once you have selected a floor in the app you will see all of the room names on the left. Name the rooms your devices. Example room name would be Bar Projector or Patio Tv etc.

Floors: The app works by populating devices on each floor the driver is on. It’s best to put all of the devices you want visible in the app on a floor. In the example provided, 2 floors were created.

The 1st floor has a room called BlackWire Brewery. This is what room you will want to put the touch screen devices. This will make it so when they get power cycled they boot into that room.  This is the name that will be at the top of the touch screen all the time. You will not use any controls in this room on the touch screen except to load the Quick Control App.

2nd Floor: This is the main project floor. This will have all of your rooms and devices. We recommend you name the room the device name. You can see what we have done in our example.

You complete normal bindings like you would with any other project. The display device is the video end point and same goes for audio etc. The only thing special we are doing is naming the rooms.

Make sure the QuickControl driver is installed in a room that is visible. If the room is hidden in navigator, the app won’t load. In the attached example the room Rack is hidden from navigator because we don’t want it loading as an available room in navigator.

Multiple Floors:

You may also split up a project and put the driver on multiple floors to cut down on what is available per interface. An example would be if you had a bar with 3 main areas which would be an Upstairs, Sports Area and Main Restaurant. You would create 3 floors and put the appropriate rooms on those floors for the AV devices then put a copy of the driver on all 3 floors. Copy and paste your activation key as well. Please note that the Support Contact Lines 1 & 2 can only be filled out in one of the drivers.

Once you have created your multi floor system when you load the app you will be able to see the 3 floors and touch which one you want to control. By selecting which touch screen devices can control those rooms you can also limit touch screens from controlling areas you don’t want them to.

Project Setup:

The application is based off of available navigator devices. This simplifies implementing the app in new and existing projects with minimal programming.

Audio/Video Sources:  All visible video devices are programmed under the Navigator Properties for the room under the Watch and Listen Menu. The devices will be displayed in the order you have Watch then Listen set up as.  You will want to hide the devices you normally would since there’s no reason to select them ie TVs them selves etc.

Once you have done all of your navigator bindings refresh navigator then load the app
