These instructions will help you set up port forwarding on the Netgear FVS336Gv2 and the SRX5308

There are 2 parts to port forwarding. The first is the services and the second is assigning those services to an ip address.

Log into the router. The default into is UN: admin PW: password

Setting up Services:

Click 1.Security at the top then in the sub menu click 2.Services

Now here is where you will create the services.

Name: Assign a name for the device ie C4-Director or an IP camera etc

Type: Leave as TCP unless your device instructions tell you to use UDP

Start Port: Enter the port number of the device service  (ie Control4 Director= 5020)

End Port: Enter the same port number of the device service (ie Control4 Director= 5020)

Click ADD

(NOTE: You can not port forward the same service to multiple devices on the network)

(NOTE: If you want to do port 80 aka web you do not need to add it. it is called HTTP and already setup as a service)

(NOTE: If you are port forwarding multiple IP cameras you need to set up a different ports for each camera. Ie 5000,5001,5002 etc and then assign them in the set up on the camera)

If your screen looks like this then good job!

Here is an example with 2 device services set up

Assigning Services to a device:

Now that your services are set up lets assign them to a device.

Click 1.Security at the top and then in the sub menu click 2.Firewall

Once on the page you will want to click 3.Add on the INBOUND SERVICES Section. This is the section on the bottom

Service: Click the box and you will have a huge list of services. Go all the way to the bottom to find the custom services you created. (NOTE: If you want to do port 80 aka web you do not need to add it. it is called HTTP and already setup as a service)

Action: Set to Allow Always

Send to Land Service: Leave set to Single Address

Start: Enter the devices IP address you want to port forward to

WAN Destination: Most of the time you will leave this as WAN1  (NOTE: if you are using a diff wan port on the router set that here)

Wan Users:  Any

QoS Profile:  None

Log: Never

Bandwidth Profile: NONE

Click Apply When done

This is what it will look like when you are done.  (IMPORTANT!! Make sure it is set to the inbound services and NOT the outbound)
